How to add a Document to your More tab!

Desktop

To add a document to your ‘More‘ tab, first, upload the pdf to your media library, then copy the URL that is created for it and paste it into the custom links section for the Menu you need it to sit under. Scroll down for the detailed instructions!

*It is important to note that you need to first make sure your document is in PDF format if it is in a word doc. the format or an excel file, it will not open in a new tab for your users, it will auto-download to their device.

Step 1: Hover over the +New tab at the top of your screen and select Media.

Step 2: Click the Select Files button in the middle of the page, and upload the file you want to link to.

Step 3: Underneath Media on the left sidebar, select Library.

Step 4: Select the file you just uploaded, and on the right-hand side of the screen that pops up, copy the file’s URL.

Step 5: Hover over Appearance on your left sidebar, and select Menus.

Step 6: From the “Select a menu to edit” dropdown, choose the menu you want to add your file to. If you are making a new menu for your file, instead of clicking on a menu in the dropdown, instead look over the right and click on the blue ‘Create a new menu‘ button. Then just add a title to your menu below.

Step 7: Click the “Custom Links” box on the left-hand side (underneath Pages and Posts), then paste the file URL where it says “Link.”

Step 8: Type in what you want to name the Direct File in the space for “Link Text,” and select Add To Menu.

Step 9: Click the blue Save Menu button

Mobile

Adding a Direct File will allow the reader to open the file in a new tab when they select it from the menu. Here’s how to add one:

Step 1: Hover over the +New tab at the top of your screen and select Media.

Step 2: Click the Select Files button in the middle of the page, and upload the file you want to link to.

   

Step 3: Underneath Media on the left sidebar, select Library.

Step 4: Select the file you just uploaded, and on the right-hand side of the screen that pops up, copy the file’s URL.
